• Delegation – A team of delegates from the same institution.
• Chair – The moderator of the debate, ensuring that rules are followed.
• Dais – The collective group of conference staff, including the Chair, Vice-Chair, and Rapporteur.
• Secretariat – The administrative body of the conference, often led by a Secretary-General.
• Placard – The sign a delegate raises to be recognized by the Chair.

  Motions are formal requests made by delegates to guide committee proceedings. These allow debates to be structured efficiently. Common motions include:

• Motion to Set the Agenda – Determines which topics will be discussed first.
• Motion for a Moderated Caucus – Requests a structured discussion with a set      speaking time.
